I’ve been waiting to see this movie since I first heard that one of my favorite book series from childhood was being turned into a film. That excitement then turned to fear that it would be toned down somewhat and lose the gore factor and horrific iconography that firmly scarred every child that read the books, but then I saw the trailer and all was well again. Due to life circumstances, I’m somewhat late to the party, but it was worth the wait that’s for sure.
