Monster Monday: The Yhetee
Monster Monday is changing, but just a bit. Instead of only looking at strange and wonderous creatures from Folklore I thought it would be fun to put the spotlight on some of the undermentioned but creative creatures from various fictional and game worlds as well.
And what better to start off with than the Yhetee. If you are a fan of Warhammer Fantasy then you might know about the Yhatees who are described as being fur-covered and almost Ogre like in their habits. They tend to use stone and wood weaponry and are usually found in the armies of the Norsca or ogres.
“The worst thing about a snowstorm is that Yhetees can be upon you before you know it – its like the storm itself grows claws!…“
Gunrek Thorson, Dwarf Ranger
The Yhetees are able to run as fast as an armored horse and are used by Ogre tyrants to attack key weapon points in different armies. They are savage and ferocious by nature able to blend into the snow and ice that covers the mountains they call home. Using long iron-hard claws and weapons fashioned from ice the Yhetees are all but unstoppable when fighting in their habitat.
Unless summoned to war by an Orge army or forced to fight by darker forces, the Yhetees are ambush hunters. They trigger avalanches to bury caravans and then dig out their half-dead prey, or attack under the guise of snowstorms and blizzards. Which shows a shrewd predatory intelligence in an already ferocious creature.
